Heart Songs - Song Meaning ?

Con eso de que Weezer sacó su nuevo álbum

Hubo una canción q se me ha metido entre la piel mas que las otras... se llama Heart Songs y es un tributo a las canciones que influenciaron de alguna manera a Weezer.

Normalmente los Rockeros hacen recuerdos de sus influencias (American Pie de Don McLean, Thunder Road de Bruce Springsteen, etc), asi tambien los raperos......

Pero... es interesante cuando le sacamos jugo a cada línea y vemos de que habla.. veamos:

Eddy Rabbit sang about how much he loved a rainy night ("I Love A Rainy Night", un clasicazo del country)
Devo Benatar were there the day John Lennon died (Devo tuvo "Whip it" y Pat Benatar "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" en #1 en 1980.. Año en que es asesinado Lennon)
Mr Springsteen said he had a hungry heart (Referencia directa)
Grover Washington was happy on the day he topped the chart (Tocaba Smooth-Jazz - Just the Two of Us)

Quiet Riot got me started with the banging of my head (ya en 1983 con el álbum Metal Health)
Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Slayer taught me how to shred (Cuando eran los guitarristas mas rápidos, ruidosos e intensos de la época)
I gotta admit though, sometimes I would listen to the radio
Debby Gibson, tell me that you think we're all alone (sigue oyendo grandes canciones Pop como "One Hand, One Heart")
Michael Jackson's in the mirror (Man in the Mirror....)
Gotta have faith if I wanna see clear (Referencia a George Michael y a ????)
Never gonna give you up, this new love a wishing well (Weezer nos RickRollea en una cancion de ELLOS...... jajajaja. Luego es Terence Trent D'Arby)
It takes two to make a thing go right, if the fresh prince starts a fight (referencia a sus influencias de Hip Hop, con Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock, y Will Smith q se pelea y su mama lo manda a Bel-Air.. jaja)
